Book Shop replaces their guillotine

Mascot Media, based in the Norfolk broads, produces and publishes beautiful books promoting art, artists, East Anglia and natural history, all written, designed, produced, published and printed in the UK – more often than not in Norfolk.

Alan and Marion Marshall are Mascot Medias writers, editors and book publishers in the fields of art, wildlife and antiques. Their publications include the Norfolk Gems book shown below which can be purchased either at their Stalham Books and Art shop shown in the above image or online here.

As well as books they have a selection of over 110 Norfolk-made greetings cards plus framed art, notebooks and stationary. Other services include image origination, scanning/photography and image processing, research and writing, design, layout, editing and print procurement, providing small-scale design-to-print services in store.

They had decided to part exchange their old guillotine for a more compact electric powered guillotine designed to handle up to A3 size stock . After speaking with one of our experts they decided on a brand new Ideal 4350 electric guillotine with a host of features including digital readout of back gauge positioning to deliver accurate cutting performance. Its all metal construction with hardened steel blade guides delivers reliable performance with safety features designed to make accidents impossible!

It includes the full IDEAL Safety Cutting System feature package which covers transparent hoods over front and rear tables, two-hand operation, and automatic blade return. The IDEAL 4350 has a maximum cut depth of 40mm for 500 sheets of paper, electric clamp and hand operated back gauge with digital read out.

Transparent safety hoods guarantee safe operation with no loss of control over the cutting task. Electric clamp helps ease of operation while digital read out on back gauge means accurate positioning of the stack for cutting. Illuminated cutting line provides further reassurance that positioning is accurate. Cutting stick removal from the side is safe and simple, while blade changeover is also a fail-safe operation.
